Question about vacationing to San Antonio

I'm from Houston and my DH and I along with our 3 dogs are traveling to SA in August for a week long vacation. We want to rent a house becasue we are taking the dogs but I'm not sure where the best place is to stay. I found this rental for a great price but I just want to make sure it is in an ok part of town. Thoughts?

Also any fun things to do there would be great! We are thinking sea world, river walk, caves, winery and lots of being lazy.

Oh, definitely do a winery tour! It's so much fun. This website has all the wineries listed. We usually drive out to the ones around Fredericksburg, there are several that are close together there.

As far as the location, I'm would stay away from the east side, but that's just my opinion. Then again, if you're getting a great deal maybe its worth it.

Definitely do the winery tours....they're so much fun! Fredericksburg is a nice little town that has a lot of wineries. It's great to spend the day there and just shop and drink wine.

As far as the house, well.....if I hadn't seen pictures, I would have told you no. That part of town can be kind of iffy, but that house may be in a good neighborhood. If I were you, I'd stay closer to downtown or farther north if you could. Sea World would be one heck of a drive from there.

I know of a great winery in Boerne and it was fantastic!! I need to find address! As for the house I agree with the ladies. The east side is a bit on the rough side. I know they are trying to fix it up and this might be on the side they've fixed up. I would say try around Northside of San Antonio and even try staying on I-10!

I think I'm going to go with your suggestions and try to find a house on the north side or down town.

That area will be much better. It's so pretty over there. You'll also be near Jacala Mexican restaurant and it's pretty good from what I remember. I think it's a keeper.
