Nightlife in Indy

Hello!

We've decided to stay at a hotel just NW of Indy and will be renting a car.  Can anyone recommend some fun nightlife in Indy?  Maybe a bar for 30 somethings?

ETA: Preferebly something laid back with live music!

TIA!

Re: Nightlife in Indy

  • Broad Ripple would be a good place to start since it's an eclectic area of town with some great night life.

I would recommend the Jazz Kitchen (http://www.thejazzkitchen.com/) or the Music Mill (http://www.themusicmillvenue.com/)

Move along, nothing to see here.....
  • Depending on when you are here...my favorite place in the city is downtown...It's called the Rathskeller: http://www.rathskeller.com/ .

They have an outdoor Biergarten, that is great on nice evenings. It tends to get a little packed sometimes, but one of my favorites.

I think Broad Ripple has a lot of a younger crowd (I'm 35 and I don't really go 'out' in Broad Ripple-it's the closest bar area to Butler so you get a lot of that crowd) but for food/day time walking around/cute little shops I would recommend Broad Ripple.

Oh and again (sorry not nightlife) but an interesting organic place to eat-and probably a little off the beaten path-on the NW side is Traders Point Creamery: http://www.traderspointcreamery.com/

I used to live on the NW side of Indy so if you need any other recommendations/help pm me and I am happy to help.
