BFing mommas?

Bella is eating food (that we make now) so I'm wondering what your schedule is for feeding solids and breastfeeding. So far we're BF when she wakes up, a couple hours later feeding solids then she usually naps. Then she BF the rest of the day until about 5 pm and we do solids again. Then around 7 she BFs again.

What do you guys do? When did you do a 3rd solid meal? TIA!

Re: BFing mommas?

  • My DD is eating solids for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  On weekdays I nurse her, get her ready and drop her off at daycare.  The DCP usually feeds DD breakfast at 8 and again at 12 and she also drinks 4 bottles.  I feed her dinner by 6 pm and nurse her before bed at 7:30.

Wow!  4 bottles...how many ounces in each?

She's at daycare for 10 hours and I send 16 oz total (4 4 oz bottles).

  • Subj to change, we have no clue what we are doing, just started solids 2 weeks ago....

I nurse in the morning. Daycare gets 3 bottles of 5 oz each. They feed her one serving of solids (rice cereal mixed with whatever fruit or veggie she on). Her last bottle at daycare is at about 5pm.

We get home form work at 6:30. We then do a 2nd serving of solids, just a veggie, at 7:00 pm. She is in the bath at 7:15 and I nurse her at 7:40. In bed by 8pm.

HOWEVER, she wakes up for a dream feed and again at 3am. She is starving both times. So I am desperately trying to increase her calorie intake during the day so I can cut her off at night. She is VERY active, crawling all day, so she is burning way too much, I can't keep up!
