What herbs grow well in a pot together, and how big a pot do I need?
I'd like to do basil, thyme, rosemary, and maybe one other thing.
Also, at school we grow rosemary but it is a huge bush a few feet wide. Are there smaller ones?
Re: herb garden in 1 pot
How many of each herb do you wnat to plant? That would influence how large your container needs to be. I grow sage, oregeno, parsley, thyme, marjoram, basil, mint and chives in a 36" diameter container - I have multiple plants of each herb.
Rosemary is more of a forb/bush. You can plant a small younger rosemary and tehn prune it heavily each year, but wouldn't grow rosemary in a container unless it was by itself.
I wouldn't plant rosemary or mint wth other herbs. They need their own pot. Chives, thyme, and oregano could be together.
I've never grown majoram.
