Kitchen ingredients for face cream?

Does anyone use anything 100% natural for mosituring their face?

I have heard of using grape seed oil, but not sure about breakouts?

I have always used 100% organic or natural skin products, and now that I am pregnant,  I want to use them even more, but so many of the organic/natural brands I see have ingredient oils in them that are not good during pregnancy. Not sure what I am afraid of more, oils that potentially may cause m/c, or harsh chemicals in regular stuff. Ughh.

Any suggestions?

Re: Kitchen ingredients for face cream?

  • I use a combination of grapeseed oil and castor oil to clean my acne prone skin at night.  The grapeseed oil is moisturizing and the castor oil clears my pores.  My skin looks so much healthier than when I was using store bought or prescription skincare.
  • I use jojoba oil with a few drops of tea tree oil, which acts as an antibacterial, and a few drops of chamomile oil as a calming agent for my sensitive skin.  I have been using this combination for a few years and my face has been the best it has ever been.

You may have to do lots of research and experimenting before you come across the right mixture that works for you.

  • i use olive oil and castor oil with a couple of drops of tea trer oil and chamomile oil for my mixture. jojoba oil caused my skin to break out terribly. i have very sensitive skin though. during a break out i use more castor than olive. during normal times 50/50.

ETA: also check out keys-soap.com i have been using 2 of their products and love them.

  • I use avocado oil with tea tree (for break outs) and lavender (to calm my skin) essential oils.  I was using jojoba but then I read that avocado is helps with elasticity, fine lines and other random stuff I can't remember.

Can you please share your information/resources?
I use EVOO/castor oil (about 80/20) and don't require a moisturizer.  I have heard good things about coconut oil and jojoba oil as moisturizers, though when i've used jojoba and not rinsed it off, it caused breakouts.
