Project for today...

Today I made it my mission to come up with at least an idea on how to decorate this space in our house.  I found the posters online and I'd probably have to order the top pieces from a vinyl shop.  This is very 'rough' but you get the idea.

What do you think? Honest opinions please...

(I'm sorry if the quality is poor - I made the draft in Word and didn't know how to make it into a jpg without saving it as a pdf first)

Re: Project for today...

  • I think it looks fine. Is there a particular reason for the "wine cellar" phrase?

  • Hi Julie!!! Being honest... I'm not sure if I like the flowers next to the text, but I really like the wording and the posters.

Have you thought about getting a cricut? I remember that you did the lettering in the kitchen- which I am still planning on copying- hehe. It might pay for itself if you end up doing more lettering, and there is a lot of other projects you can do with it to that you might like.

  • I honestly feel like the script and floral on the top take away from the rest visually and it looks a bit cluttered.

Then again, I am often of the school of thought to remove one item (accessories) once dressed, less is more kind of girl..

  • I appreciate your honesty.  I'm sorry the grapes didn't come out looking like grapes.  Last night before I went to bed I made the executive decision to toss the above idea. DH took one look at it and said "its too symetrical". LOL
  • I meant to reply to this before, in fact I thought I did? lol.

I think it would look really nice if you kept the Wine Cellar and just one of the pictures below, but make it bigger.

  • i would also leave the grapes out.  it looks like the wall is painted, but the alcove is not?

if it were the other way around, i might paint the alcove and just have the paintings without the "wine cellar" and grapes.

although decorating is definitely not my strongest suit
