Devil_Ducky or other mac users

Devil_Ducky - taking you up on your offer to answer questions cause I just thought of one that drove me crazy yesterday!

Since there is no right click. When you have one of those auto spellcheckers that underlines a misspelled word with a red squiggly... how do you click on it to change/correct the spelling?!  Not sure if it matters or not but I was trying to figure it out when creating a new blog post in Wordpress (while viewing through Firefox).

Re: Devil_Ducky or other mac users

  • Press control + mouse click.  Thats the "right click" button.

  • But as for spelling corrections, I just always use the menu tab at the top to check spelling.

hmmm i swear i tried that cause i was trying fn, option, and everything i could think of but maybe not! i'll try that tonight when I get home! Smile

  • it might depend on the mouse you're using or your setup, but you can also make your mouse have a "right click" function by clicking on "system preferences".  then click on "keyboard & mouse".  on mine, a diagram comes up and you can select "secondary button" from the drop down menu so that the right side of your mouse does the same thing as holding down "command" and clicking.

at least, that's how it works on mine!

  • I forgot about the second button option if you have a dual button mouse.  Makes it a ton easier.  However, if you run the mac wireless mouse (No right button on the mouse), then cntrl + click should do the trick.

  • On my MacBook, if you use two fingers on the built in mouse its double click vs. one finger for regular/left clicking.
  • thought of another question for those who have switched computers! Should I move my iTunes? Ideally, it'd be nice to have my iTunes on my mac for syncing to my phone and iCal and all that but moving iTunes seems like it'd be a hassle. and we still have our PC (which has more memory than the MacBook) so I kinda feel like I should leave it on the PC?? what do y'all thinking? anyone relocated their library? is it a huge hassle?
  • there are right click features when you use the ctrl button with a click.  For spell check, I always go to edit -> spelling and grammar -> show spelling and grammar.  As for itunes, I use the home sharing feature to swap songs between mine and DH's computer.

Just an itunes option.  All you need is an account and you just type in the user name/password and you're all set to share, I believe up to 5 computers.

  • You can share up to 5 devices. So if you have itunes on your iphone, ipod, etc, these count.
