i stocked up on some organic valley milk and eggs.  this is the first store i've found here to carry the organic valley line!

what are your must-haves at Whole Foods that i should check out next time?

Re: aw: so excited!

  • I love the bulk section!  I regularly get raw almonds, dried mangos, granola, couscous, quinoa, rice, lentils, and peanut butter from the grinder machines.  That peanut butter is so addictive!  I can't keep it in the house without eating the entire container in under a week.

I also like to pick up certain produce, fresh baked bread, good cheese, organic valley milk, seafood and recycled paper products.

Oh, how could I forget the coconut ice cream.  Yet another thing that disappears very quickly in our house.

  • Our nearest WF is 45 minutes away, so I understand your excitement. There are only a few things that I have to get there that I can't get through our co-op or our local grocery (which has a really great organic section and tons of local foods).

Organic Pretzels, OV milk paks, OV butter and eggs (when the co-op is out of local), organic corn and flour tortillas. Various Eden canned tomatoes (whole, crushed, diced etc.). And the best possible chocolate bar on this earth. Chocolove, dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds. Seriously to die for. I usually buy other stuff just because I'm there, but those are the things I go there for.

  • Jealous, we still don't have one close to me.
  • Their in-store lable (365) has some really good deals, so keep an eye out for that for "basic" sutff. I buy most of my bath/shower products there, too. GREAT selection of local beers and wines (for us at least)

  • The cheese!  We LOVE good cheese and there is plenty of it at Whole Foods.
  • We get all our bulk food from there: Quinoa, oats, lots of different beans, granola, and lots of different nuts.  I get speciality fruits & veggies that my local grocery stores don't carry, like fennel or celery root.  We get all our vegetarian speciality things there, like "bacon, sausage, and burgers" plus tofu b/c their 365 brand is cheaper and better quality. I get OV milk from there since our local grocery store only carries it in half-gallons, which I go through in a day or two.  I get our eggs from the Farmer's Market but if you don't have that option then OV is good.

Their lunch buffet is to die for.  I eat there every Sunday after Yoga with my instructor.

  • Oh yay! I know some people are anti-WFs, but its so nice to have that resource.

Honestly I mostly just buy cheese, bread, and produce. Oh, wait, I do have a few WF faves -- they sell Davina sun-dried tomatoes, which are near the pestos and cold cheeses (like fresh mozzarella) in a little tub SO GOOD worth the $$$!!. I also like their organic pizza crusts, pretty cheap and way better than Boboli. I've been drinking Green Bridge Zin from there that's been reasonably priced, tasty and EF.

Now if you asked about the cheese section, I could go on and on! Stick out tongue
