Not sure if you saw my FB post but do you have a BabyHawk?  How do you like it?  I'm thinking about getting one.  I'm becoming obsessed with carriers!

Re: **Malia**

  • OMG, welcome to my world! I am obsessed too!

Yes, I have a Baby Hawk. I do like it a lot. It's easy to put on and it's comfy. I don't like how the ties stick out a little on the back. With a jacket over it, it's not that obvious. But you won't be wearing a jacket in Vegas...

I got my BH at a consignment store for $20 so it's not the colors I would have chosen...... I think I might get one in the colors I want for a 2nd baby. Maybe. I saw a lady at the mall with one on in black and red and it looked so sharp and stylish.

I think Sarah Zizzo might have one too?

My favorite baby carrier is the Belle carrier. It's lightweight, nice looking, and small so I can throw it easily into my diaper bag or the bottom of the stroller.

    HTH!

I have one but I like my Ergo better.  It just seems to 'fit' Ashton better.  He tried to buck out of the baby hawk.  Oh and I had a carrier obsession. I highly recommend trying them on with baby to see which one you like the best.

  • Oh, Renee...I was gonna ask if you went to Baby Awearness in Manoa Marketplace.  I remember you posting about it and I saved the link.  Looks like they have a lot of carriers.  I'm gonna check it out when I'm there.

  • They  have a similar class here in DC at the Breastfeeding Center. They showed us (and you could try) the Moby, Maya, Ergo, Baby K'Tan, New Native...

Slings I own include the Moby (so comfy, not great for use on the go), Maya (gift, have not used), Peanut Shell sling, Infantino sling (gift), Baby Kelty carrier, Bjorn Active in white (hand-me-down gift), Baby Hawk and Belle Carrier.

I kept meaning to get the Ergo but never did... Still might, but I'm pretty happy with the Belle for now! Alexa is only 15 lbs so she's still small enough to carry.

  • I have a Peanut Shell sling which I loved the first couple weeks. But then she seemed to be uncomfortable in it. We have a Moby, but yeah, mostly good for use at home. I just got an Ergo and I like it but it has some drawbacks, esp that it's not comfy to sit in. So I want something softer. I'm gonna try a Belle. There's a place in town that carries them. Thanks for the tips!

I do have the babyhawk and we custom designed ours as our anniversary gift for eachother. My side is pretty pink paisley and Ryan's is some crazy blue design but he likes it :)

I really like our baby hawk!! I haven't tried the ergo but I'd like too. I have the moby and it's kind of a PITA when you are out in public BUT I love that Bella can face out in it. I just wish it was faster/easier to put on in public. She's nosey and loves to look around! The babyhawk is perfect for shopping, grocery store, running errands. It's easy and quick to put on and usually she just lays her head on my chest and naps. It's an easy way to get her to nap if she's being a bear! :)

I should hunt down some baby wearer groups here and try to test drive some different carriers. She's getting heavier now and I seem to have a sensitive back.
