Nest Newbie

Hi Everyone, I'm a new "Nestie" and just wanted to introduce myself express how excited I am to have discovered this website. My DH and I moved to Las Vegas a little over a year ago, we are living in the Mountains Edge area. I'm up for any opportunity to meet new friends!  Also, I am always on the lookout for a climbing buddy (I'm very much a novice, but enjoy indoor climbing and I am looking forward to getting some experience in the fresh air) if anyone is interested in checking out the Red Rock Climbing Center, please let me know!

Re: Nest Newbie

  • Hey Stacy!

I recently moved here about a year and half ago, so we have something in common! I, too, just found this site not too long ago and am looking to make new friends.  I would love to get together sometime. Not sure what you enjoy doing. I dont think I would do well climbing as I am affraid of heights but I love to do other forms of exercise. Let me know if you are interested in getting together. I live in Summerlin, not too far from Mountain's Edge. Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Hi girls!  I've been here a little longer than you both (about 4.5 years), but am always looking for new friends to hang with!  I live way Northwest--in Providence, but I'm happy to go wherever to meet up.  Maybe we can get together for lunch or drinks or even a Red Rock hike or something?
  • I'm not much of a hiker but lunch would be fun or something!! I always love making new friends too! I live in Summerlin! :)
  • I am always up for lunch, drinks, a hike, whatever! I am available most on the weekends, although I can get together on an occasional work night. We could always meet up for happy hour or something. Let me know...I'm always up for meeting new friends! Look forward to meeting everyone soon! :)
  • Thanks so much for the responses! I really look forward to meeting everyone and thought I would throw out a few dates (anytime the weekend of April 3rd perhaps? If that's too soon the following weekend also works for me) Has anyone tried Nora's Wine Bar in Summerlin? My DH and I really enjoy it there. Let me know!

  • I am up for absolutely everything. Rock climbing is not a must! I am currently nannying is Summerlin so I spend a great deal of time there. I posted some suggestions for a get together date, but if you ever want a buddy for something, let me know!
  • I am free April 3rd if you would like to get together. I have never been to Nora's Wine Bar but have always wanted to try it. It's in Boca Park, right? I used to nanny, too, I loved it! What part of Summerlin do you nanny in...I live and work in Summerlin. This sounds like fun! I am always down for meeting new people.  Cant wait to meet you!  :)
  • April 3rd works great for me! Would you prefer an early afternoon or around happy hour? Yes, Nora's is in Boca Park, it has a great atmosphere! Anyone who is free is welcome to join!  (Jamee, I am working with two families right now, one of the families lives near Russell, right off the 215, and the other lives near Summerlin Hospital) See you Saturday!
  • Gals, sorry to say I can't make April 3--volunteering with the Prom Fairy Foundation in the morning and then I am spending the rest of afternoon shoveling landscape rock from our driveway to our backyard (oh, joy, but the HOA won't let us keep it on the street very long!).  If you two make plans to meet up again, let me know, and I will join!  Or, we can make plans again on this thread.  =)
  • Great! Around Happy Hour works better for us...maybe 5ish..are we bringing the hubbies too? I will be there....would love for as many of you to join as would like.  Cant wait. Have a great rest of your week!
  • 5 works great. I think bringing the hubbies is a great idea if you both can make it (and anyone else looking for a nice night out, the more the merrier!) MrsJay, I'm sorry you can't make it, we will definitely have to plan another dinner or maybe even a Sunday brunch. Weekends are great if you ever find yourself with free time, just let me know!
  • Bummer I can't make it on Saturday! Have fun and hope to meet you ladies another time here pretty soon!!
  • I be there with the hubby then. Too bad no one else can make it, but I am sure we will have fun. We will have to set something else up for another time. I love the brunch idea! What days typically work for everyone?  See you tomorrow at 5 Stacey!

  • Did you gals have fun??  I'm sad I couldn't be there!
  • Oh we had a great time! It was really nice to make a new friend and I am looking forward to more nights like it meeting other nesties. In a city like Vegas, this site is a great opportunity to meet people!
