The Fair Be There...

The Miami Dade Youth Fair and Exposition is opening on Thursday, March 25 and runs thru April 11. I don't know about you ladies but my mouth is already watering just thinking of the elephant ears, corn on the cob, candy apple and the rest of the greasy but yummy food that awaits. I have been going every year for as long as I can remember. The only difference now is that I only go to eat. For some reason I get sick in most of the rides. I guess I'm getting old.

So let's share our best and worst fair experience.

My best would be going with a big group of my friends and riding Niagara Falls 5 times back to back. I ended up getting a cold afterwards but it was so much fun.

My worst would be the time I decided that eating a slice of pizza right before riding the Gravitron would be a good idea. As it turned out my stomach was not happy. Can we say embarrasing Embarrassed

Re: The Fair Be There...

  • i'm excited to eat a corn on the cob and a gyro...i dont do any of the rides anymore but i like all the shows and this year i want to take my niece so she can see all the animals :)

btw if you go online on the website there's a bunch of coupons and if you buy one online ticket and go on opening day, the second person goes in for free!!

Thanks for the heads up but I bought my tickets on a presale promotion. I normally do that so I don't have to make the long lines.

  • We used to go every year when we were younger, but the crowds there just seem to be getting worse and worse and it looks dirtier every year. But the food, that's another thing. The food is the only thing worth going for.

I don't think we'll go this year because I'm on a diet and I really don't need the temptation, lol.

  • I haven't been since college and I want to actually go this year! DH said he would take me :).  I don't know what junk I can eat but I would happy with cotton candy!

Best experience would be going with my whole family every year growing up.  My dad always made a big deal out of us going so it was special to me.

Worst experience was my DH's car getting hit right after he bought it by a guy leaving the fair.  It happened on FIU's campus right before he picked me up from my dorm. His car has never driven the same since!
