Baby Cold Question

DD has a stuffed up nose. I know to use saline drops and the sucky rubber bulb, but if I use a humidifier do I use a cold or hot mist one? Any recommendations? I have to buy one on the way home so CVS, Walmart and Target are my only easy options. TIA!

Re: Baby Cold Question

  • I was always told to do cold mist...I hear the warm mist harbors bacteria in it and in the air...We have a vicks cool mist and it's great...also great for white noise. Hope your munchkin gets un-stuffy soon!
  • Yup, you want cold mist for a humidifier.

Also, she is old enough now that you can use Baby Vicks & the plug-in vaporizers.  We use the Pedia-care one, but I think there are a few others.  We swear by the plug-ins & used so many this fall/winter that I should have bought stock in them!

     Hope she feels better soon!

  • We have a Vicks Vaporizer and that works really good!  I've used it SO many times this past winter with all of Briannas ear infections/colds.  It makes the whole room smell like Vicks! = )
