Ryan will be going into daycare in a week and a half, and I'm wondering if I should be putting him in his not so good clothes for daycare... or what sorts of things people put their kids in... I just don't want his good clothes to get wrecked (I'm not sure how they would at this point)
Re: Daycare clothing
I used to put Ari in cute little dresses and sandals at daycare; however, as she is growing, I need to put much more practical clothing on her. So many of her clothes are ruined now because the stains won't come out. She also wears sneakers every days, because with her sandals, flip flops, and crocs, she was hurting her feet every day while playing outside. I think at her new preschool they are required to wear no open toed shoes. I let her wear her stained clothes to daycare in an attempt to keep some of her clothes looking nice!
IMO at your son's age, he should be fine in any type of clothing, but when he starts to do arts and crafts, drink juice, and play outside, you should stick to play clothes at daycare.
I try not to put Brianna in her really good clothes. Shes always coming home SO SO SO dirty and food everywhere, that I just don't bother anymore to dress her in good clothes. I still want her to look cute and put together though! = ) Since Ryan is younger it probably wouldn't matter now, but once he can start doing activities and eating by himself then the messs factor really hits! I also send a change of clothes with Brianna incase she gets really dirty, has a diaper blow out or whatever. I'm also constantly spraying her clothes at night with Oxyclean to get whatever stains on her clothes out. I just spray them and toss in the hamper!
GL!!
I do like him to look cute at daycare, so I don't put him in anything too bad. But if I don't like an outfit I get as a gift, I send that as a backup, like the onesie MIL got him that says "daddy's little wingman" WTF, daddy is married, he doesn't need a a wingman!
Jakob wears clothes that I do not mind getting TRASHED on the days that he goes to daycare. He never wears anything that I care about as they do alot of art projects at his age and he comes home wearing a little bit of everything that he has eaten and/or played with during the day.
This summer, actually, I bought a bunch of souvenir tshirts at a shop in Ogunquit that were 1$ each and those along with a cheapo pair of jersey shorts from Walmart, is what he wears to daycare when he goes. He even has a special pair of ugly sneakers for daycare because he comes home with crud all over those too! I joke that his teachers must think that we have a summer place in Ogunquit or something - LOL!
