Anyone got their NC tax refund yet?

You've got to love the great state of NC when they say "we cannot provide a date for you to receive your refund" which is basically saying we are going to hold onto your money as long as possible.  We e-filed in early Feb. and still haven't received it.  Has anyone received theirs or are you waiting too?

Nope. We filed in Feb too. I think they are broke and hanging onto our money for as long as possible. I thought I heard that if you haven't received it by May they were going to tack on interest?

They are being held because the state is out of money & they're waiting for those who owe to file & pay, so they can use that money to refund those we are owed.

We're still waiting, but only mailed them a couple of weeks ago.

Ok.  At least I'm not the only one waiting.  It seems that there are a couple other states in the same position.  Hawaii residents will have to wait as long as the end of summer before receiving their refunds.  It so crazy! 

The budget cuts that are making it take 6 months to receive Abby's birth certificate should give me my refund...lol

I filed mine late January and got my refund about a week ago. Hopefully they won't get as backed up as they did last year and you will all see your money soon!

we filed mid-feb. and are still waiting, but i really don't care that much because it's $47.

We got ours back 10 days after we filed it...

 

ETA:  OOOH crap, I lied.  I forgot DH's company screwed up and paid his state taxes into SC all year.  So, he had to pay NC and get a refund from SC.  So, we got SC taxes back 10 days after filing.

We just got our refund yesterday and we filed electronically on 2-6-2010,be patient one day it will magically appear.....

They are waiting for me to pay which will occur on April 15th precisely.

We filed pretty much as soon as we could and got ours back within 2wks or so.  Right after we got our refund they said they were out of money and refunds would be delayed.

My thoughts exactly.  I'm waiting for my Fed return to pay the NC taxes.  Not good planning I know.
