Has anyone done teeth whitening?

I have been wanting to do it for a while but it's pretty expensive.

So I was curious to see if anyone had any good experience's?

Re: Has anyone done teeth whitening?

  • I got BriteSmile done like 7 years ago and it worked great. I should probably go back for a retouch since its been so long but they are still a lot whiter then before I got it done.

It hurt a little bit towards the end of the treatment but nothing terrible. The only part that really sucked was afterwards when I was driving home they were ultra sensitve to the sun. They had warned me about that but I was not expecting it to such an intensity.

So yea, I think it's worth it. Mine has lasted like7 years, I get cleanings twice a year so that might help too. HTH!

  • Considered getting it before the wedding, but then photographer said he can whiten teeth in photos, so save the $.  LOL

I still do want to get it, just been to cheap to do it.

  • I forgot to mention that the price was typically $400 but my dentist was able to get me a coupon for $100 off. I am not sure what the price is these days...is it more or less?

  • I have used the Crest white strips and they've worked wonders. On the 5th of the seven days, I was actually tempted to stop because I had achieved the result I wanted.

I checked on the britesmile website and the dentist nearest me is charging $550.

I didn't think those strips worked. I am going to give them a try. I just hope they work on my teeth because they are pretty yellow Embarrassed because of all the soda I drink.

  • My dentist gave me whitening trays as a wedding gift and I absolutely love them.  They are normally $300 for the trays and $25 for the gel.  You use the trays every other day for 30 minutes for 7 days (or less if you see results sooner like me) and then touch up every few months for a day or two.

My DH is so jealous of my trays.  They are amazing :).

  • I did zoom whitening and it was the best decision I ever made. I am a fast results kind of girl so I love how you can walk in and 30 minutes or so later bam glistening white teeth. The only negative is is hurt like a biotch.... but only for 24 hours or so and then I never felt any kind of sensitivity.. so worth it!
  • I saw a special in the flyer for a local dentist that was advertising the trays for $100 so I took advantage and it was wonderful. It was a couple years back but from what I remember everyone kept commenting on how white my teeth were. I would love to do it again sometime.

  • I did the Whitestrips a few years back and they worked REALLY well. I was impressed. But, the downside is that it only lasts about two years. Or at least, that's when I noticed discoloration again. I need to do them again!

  • I was going to get it done at the dentist but couldn't justify the $300 + price so I did the Crest Whitestrips (the professional strength ones which are also recommended by Consumer Reports).  I did the strips once before too and got compliments for years after about how white my teeth are.

  • I did it a few years ago with a dentist. I got the gel trays and they were great (they work just like Michi described). I haven't used them in years, but my teeth are still in great condition.  I could probably stand to use them again...but they were excellent.
