Where to purchase....in the NW suburbs

With the arrival of Spring I am now getting the itch to put fresh flowers in the house.  I use to live in the city and loved going to the farmers market to buy flowers.  Now that I am living in the suburbs I have come to realize I cannot find any nice bunches of flowers in stores besides what is sold in Whole Foods and the local grocer!  Does anyone have a recommendation on where to purchase reasonably priced flowers in the NW suburbs?

  • Not sure which weekend it starts or where in the burbs you're located, but we always get our flowers in the spring/summer/fall from the farmer's market in downtown Wheaton. There are several flower vendors there and they always have nice stuff for relatively inexpensive.

  • Lowe's or Home Depot usually have nice selections
  • If you live near Palatine, or drive out this way once in awhile we have a great nursery called Knuppers right between rand and dundee rds or rand and lake cook rds.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out!  I frequent that area a lot, I'm in Arlington Heights!

  • If you mean fresh cut flowers, Trader Joes often has really pretty bunches and sometimes some more unique (wouldn't see it at Jewel) seasonal blooms (like they had ranunculous the other day). TJ's is on Rand and Arlington Heights Rd.
