Hi ladies! In hopes of getting this board more active, I thought everyone could make a list of some of their favorite restaurants! Since I know there are several new ladies (including me) to the area, this could be really helpful for girls nights out or date nights! I am a total foodie, and I'm pretty much up for any kind of food, so I would love the hear where everyone else loves to eat!
Re: Restaurant List
Hmm..let's see.
These are the chain restaurants I like a lot:
-The Melting Pot
-Mimi's Cafe
-Carrabba's
-P.F. Chang's
Local places:
-El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant (on Midlothian Turnpike used to be El Paso I believe) next best thing since La Siesta closed
-Hot Tamale (yet another mexican place, but this one is more tex mex)
-Cupertino's Bagels (closest thing to Bodo's in Charlottesville)
Realized I don't go to a lot of local places often..most of my favorites have closed at this point.
I am in Short Pump/West End...
here are my Short Pump Favs"
Dd33
Baker's Crust
Grape Vine
Other Favs:
Sticky Rice
Tarrants
Short Pump/ Far West End list:
Vinnys Pizza (but you have one of these in Cville too)
Grandpa Eddies BBQ (Cox Rd and Three Chopt)
Mama Cucina's (Innsbrook Shops)- AMAZING italian with huge portions...small family owned
Big Als sports bar (near Cox and Three Chopt)
Mexico across from the mall for Mexican
North Pole (a bit pricey and hole in the wall place out in the country going west on Patterson)- amazing steaks and very interesting decor
Kona Grill
Impanema Brazilian Steakhouse
Rudinos- Grinder Sandwhichs are awesome (John Rolfe Parkway)
I also love Bakers Crust too.
I'm soooo sad to not see the following listed:
Bottom's Up Pizza
Legend's Brewery
Sin?e
Sticky Rice
Nacho Mama's
Strawberry St. Cafe (THE best Sunday brunch nom nom nom)
This list is most definitely incomplete and granted these are all located in the big city - but they are wonderful local places and need to be sampled at least once. Richmond is chock full of great eateries and I encourage you to explore!!!
And for you Richmond newbies, you must see Maymont Park if you haven't already. Wear walking shoes because you WILL do an insane amount of walking - hills, stairs, etc.
For others that have not been listed:
Lucille's Southern Fusion has awesome main dishes, pretty crappy sides--but the main dishes are awesome!
Buz-n-Ned's Barbeque--amazing sweet potato fries
Mexico Restaurant
Da Lat
Anna's Italian has great steak and cheese subs
Texas de Brazil -- $$$ but amazing
Juleps
Capital Ale House--awesome burgers
Cafe Ole--only open for lunch
There is a great restaurant in Short Pump Mall called Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill. It's our favorite restaurant! It has a rustic feel to it and the dishes are so good. I recommend the Cilantro Grilled Chicken in a tomato cheese sauce with Parmesan Mashed Potatoes, it is to die for!
