What am I supposed to do with all those veiny roots hanging way out of the pot? They are very long and already look like they're breaking. Do I need to re-pot it so they're under the bark? I just received it today as a gift, so I wasn't able to ask the floral/plant person at the store.
Any great websites on orchid care? I so don't want to kill this one like I did my last one.

I'm pretty sure you just let them be. orchids will flower then stay dormant (or whatever) for a good year, so don't think you killed it if it doesn't flower for a long time. I usually water mine every week or two - I soak it with water in the sink and let it drain for a few hours before putting it back in it's spot.
Thanks; that seems simple enough. I killed the first one by over-watering. It's just weird how those big old vein roots are taking over. I fear my cat will munch them!
