I'm in love with the Pioneer Woman

I'm making the Quesadillas de Camarones tonight!  Mmmmmmmmm!

Elyse is napping and I'm getting the ingrediants all prepped so that I can make it all up quickly this evening Big Smile

Anyone else use her recipes?

Re: I'm in love with the Pioneer Woman

  • i'm new to her blog, but i'm making the baked lemon pasta for a girlfriends' get together this weekend.

so many good recipes, and i love how clearly she lays them out!

  • i've made a few of her recipes and liked them!

i have found that i have to do that too... work in increments while the baby sleeps or else i can't get anything cooked/baked! :)

  • I've made a ton of them, and I can honestly say that they've ALL been delicious! The only one that I was so-so about was the macaroni and cheese, and that wasn't bad - I just prefer mine a little creamier, so next time I'd probably add more milk and maybe some sour cream or something (it's a great base recipe though). The winner in our house are her bacon wrapped jalapenos, which are our go-to dish for any kind of potluck or appetizer thing - they always disappear within 15 minutes, no matter how many we make!

It took me ages to get Ben to read her blog - he'd sniff derisively and say, "That's a GIRL blog" - but once I did OMG he was hooked. He's her biggest fan now, and whenever she posts a new recipe he emails it to me and asks when we can make it lol. Stick out tongue

  • She's a great blogger. I've been catching up on the past three years worth of stuff... I don't know how she has time to do it!

I love the layout as well - it makes following the recipe so easy.

oooh I'll have to try the bacon wrapped jalepenos!  I love appies!

Her hilarity makes cooking so fun!

I HIGHLY recommend increasing the amount of bacon - she just uses one strip around each jalapeno, but we cover ours completely. The bacon shrinks when it's cooked, and I think that just one strip wouldn't be enough. Then again, I have a thing for bacon. Stick out tongue

I remember seeing those in your blog lisa but then kind of forgot about them.  I then saw a recipe for something similar in a apps magazine my grandma bought me (she always picks up those "taste of home" magazines and the like that they place by the check stand at the grocery) it calls for cajun seasoning and cheddar in with the cream cheese.  I agree, everyone loves them and it's EASY - win-win!!

  • I've made a few from her web site and a few from her cook book, they are always delicious
