Well, that was easy...lol. Off to go read.

  • Well, first, I'm super happy that the surgery, all things considered, went so well and that you're recovering well.  That's the most important thing.  I'm sorry to hear that there were more things than was expected.  But, it sounds like it's not a stop sign for you guys, just another curve in the road to your goal.  There are some big decisions ahead, but I'm glad you have options still.  I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you will get there soon!!  You will!  Lots of love and hugs, sweetie!  Let us know if you need anything!

  • I love that you had all of these hot men around pre surgery. So sorry to hear about your tubes, and how scary about the other things. You poor thing, you have been through/are going through hell. (((HUGS)))
  • I'm sorry your tubes are crappy! I still have hope, since now you are all cleaned out, and you did get pregnant before. I'm just glad you're moving forward and have options. Lots of love!

  • I'm glad he got your insides cleaned up and I'm glad he got a look at your tubes- even if they aren't doing what they are supposed to do- at least you know that.  And knowing is half the battle- knowledge is power, love!

Like Lauren said- this isn't your stop sign.  It's just a curve in the road.  And your road has more curves than most, but it will make arriving at your destination that much sweeter.  Smile

Lots of love to you during recovery.

  • Though it sucks you found out some new issues, it must feel so good to finally KNOW and be able to move forward! Hang in there lady, you'll reach your goal before you know it!
  • First of all I'm very gald your recovering quickly and feeling good. I'm so glad you've found out the causes of what is going on. And I am super happy your doctor is optimistic about you getting KU, even if it's later than sooner, I know it will happen for you and your DH. I wish ya'll all the best of luck, I feel like the ball is beginning to roll for you and this surgery was just to point it in the right direction.

  • Oh Karrey I seriously just want to give you a ginormous gentle hug.  I'm glad this is all done for you and that there is still hope and nothing is ruled out.

It does.  I feel justified for all the times I told my old doctor that something wasn't right and that things weren't normal. Now way no how.

I'm staying positive even though it is more than I expected.  I have no doubt that we will get there.  Thanks to the support of some rockin Novembies!

  • Lots of love, Karrey.  I am so glad that modern medicine is here to help you.  Take care.  Hopefully the next visit will continue to increase hope.
  • Again - LIVID at the old doctor for ignoring you so long when you clearly had issues. But those feelings aren't productive, you're on the right path now.

I know how incredibly frustrating this news must be, but like Veruca said . . . it's not a stop sign, it's a curve or a detour. At least you're better equipped and you finally know what's going on now.

Your doctor sounds amazing. I'm glad you finally have someone who knows what they're doing that you can trust.

Gentle hugs. You're on your way.

  • First, big gentle hugs!

I am so sorry for your craptastic tubes, but at least you know, and like Breanne said, knowledge is power. And like pp's have said, this procedure set and aimed you in the right direction towards hope and options, and ultimately your goal.

Keeping you in my thoughts as you continue to recover. Know  that we're here for you to support you as you continue your journey.

     **hugs gently**

  • I'm happy for the good news and agree that the bad news is a bump, not a road block.

I don't know a ton about IVF, but I do know that it was essentially invented at the Jones Institute in Norfolk, VA.  I have a friend from high school who was one of the first IVF babies in the country in 1981.  I know you have a lot to think about, but we're all behind you.

  • Karrey (just an fyi-I'm not a big hugger-you can ask Sasha one of my FB friends-she'll tell ya!, but) hugs to you!!!

I am glad they took care of you and you have some answers... I know they aren't exactly what you hoped for, but they are hopeful ones and it sounds like you are on the right track for having a LO... DH's ex had in utero-the turkey baster thing, I think? and they wound up with 3 beautiful kids-my SKIDS...  Not sure what BM's prob was, but DH had some slow swimmers...  I think it worked the first time... and then she went super early!

Things sound not great, but not horribly grim... I think you're on the right track and T&P to you that you are!!! As for the endometriosis... a close relative had it and had the surgery for it... and it hasn't returned.  I take  BCP so I don't have the symptoms of it, but if I forget... ugh- AF is NOT fun!...

Anyway... you're in my thoughts!  Lots of great recovery and I hope this helps!

  • Tons of love to you darlin'.  I'm sure with Dr. D's help you'll have a little one soon.  It might not be easy, but it will be worth it!
  • I'm so glad that the surgery went well and that you are recovering but I am so sorry you had to find more bad news after having such a serious surgery to try to make things better.  I guess its better that you know now then down the line even further.  ::gentle hugs:: coming your way.

  • Karrey my love! I'm so sorry there ended up being more than what you had expected. But like pp have said, at least you know MORE than what you did before and you'll have a game plan soon! I know that you're going to have a lot of thinking/planning to do with the whole IVF thing, we are all behind you 100000% sweetie! You know we'll be there along the way no matter what you need! Love you girlie, and I wish we were all closer to you so we could have some much needed 'ritas with ya! ::gentle hugs:: xoxox

So glad the surgery went well and you are staying postive.  You deserve all the support, we know that you'd be doing the same thing for us!

  • I'm glad to hear you're doing well even though there was some not so great news after surgery. I'm sending good thoughts that everything works out for you!

Hope you're feeling well today. Big yet gentle hugs.

  • I'm glad that you are recovering well.  Sorry that the endo was so pervasive and that your tubes are not cooperating.

The whole IVF vs. old school is a hard decision.  I understand that you are in a bit of a race against the clock for having babies before the endo grows back...but you did get pregnant before...but it took many cycles...

Am I correct in remembering that you have good IF coverage?  So this decision is mostly a personal one (and not a huge financial one)?

We'll support you no matter which path you take.

Rest well, feel better, and know that your are in our thoughts and prayers.

We did get pregnant before, which is one of the things that keeps me hopeful.  I am hoping that we can go straight into an IUI cycle. He really wants us pregnant in 6 months since he had to leave some of the endo behind.

Our IF coverage is great but I can't take to long to make a decision because benefits can always change.  It doesn't cover all of IVF though.  WHich means that the choice is not only personal but also very much a financial decision.

Poop...I was hoping that money wasn't an issue too...Sad

  • I am so sorry to hear after all that you have dysfunctional falopian tubes! Jeez, man!  Hopefully getting all the cysts/endo tissue out of the way will be enough despite the tube issues and you'll be preggo asap.  :)

  • I have so much to say to you Karrey from I am so sorry, I was not around when the m/c happened, to you are the strongest person I know, you have survived so much in life and are still here and so supportive of others.  Life has truly dealt you the wrong hand but some how you have managed to make due and come out even at least and in my opinion on top of things.  I will never know what you have dealt with but I truly feel for you and hope that you are now on the right track.  Your new doctor seems supportive and even through you have just had some news that is not perfect there are many options out there.  No matter what you decided we (or at least I am) here with my pom poms being your own personal cheerleader.  Any and everything I can do for you please let me know.
