Anyone have tmobile with a phone that they like?
I just upgraded (but not sure I'm going to keep it) to a flip phone with a camera (Nokie 6263) for the first time. Old phone was a bar with the fanciest feature being the screen was in color pixels, not b&w - so I'm pretty low tech. I use the phone for talking, texting, and now I guess I can use the camera part since I have one. Anyway, the reason I'm thinking about getting rid of it is the sound quality and the battery life - seems if I don't charge it every night, it goes dead by morning.
Any ideas?
I'd also like to stay away from having to pay more for the service, so I'd like a phone that doesn't require a data plan.
Thanks!
Re: Tmobile phones
I recently upgraded to a Blackberry 8900 and LOVE IT!
I had to pay more for the phone because i was not interested in the data plan. But still got a fair deal.
Just be careful if you are considering a smart phone because they will try to sell you data plan (up to $30/month) and if they set this as a requirement in your account you wont be able to get out of it for a while.
I would suggest going into a store and just seeing what you like. I think you'll have a better experience if you go into an ACTUAL T-Mobile store, not a mall kiosk or "authorized reseller" store, because of how commissions work. Let the salesperson know that you won't be paying for a data plan, that battery life is a big consideration, and see what they recommend as well.
I'd steer clear of a smart phone if you want good battery life. Also, a number of the smart phones (especially the Android phones) don't work without the data plan, so it's not that the salesperson is trying to con you into something.
After you buy the phone, pay attention to your reception and experience with it. You'll have a period where you can exchange it, so don't be shy about exchanging it with another phone if you feel the coverage or battery life isn't great. It will vary phone by phone.
