Chicago GTG 9/28: Old Town Neighborhood Tour

Last year in September 2007 I hosted the National What's Cooking Board GTG. It was an awesome weekend with quite a few nesties that flew in from various states (including nesties from Missouri, Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin!) This year its all about the Chicagoland nesties and I'm hosting a special GTG with a free tour of Old Town on Sunday, September 28th. I hope you can attend!

If you would like the evite, please send me an email at itsjoelen@gmail.com. Curious about what our tour will include? Read on for details...

We will be taking a tour of the Old Town Neighborhood of Chicago. Wells St. in the heart of Old Town offers wonderful shops and restaurants, so let's check them out together! Here are the stops will we be taking on the tour:

We'll start with Brunch at
Bistrot Margot (1447 N. Wells St.). It offers a wonderful brunch menu and has great reviews.

Next we'll head to indulge in spices at
The Spice House (1512 N. Wells St.) Here you'll be able to take in the wonderful aromas of various spices and seasonings.

Just a few doors down is
Old Town Oil (1520 N. Wells St.). We'll learn a bit about olive oils, the differences between them among regions and the chance to purchase some to take home.

To satisfy our sweet tooth,
The Fudge Pot (1532 N. Wells St.) will have quite a few treats for us to check out like their assortment of fudge and caramel apples!

If fudge and candy isn't your style, maybe you'll find something at the
Twisted Sister Bakery (1543. N. Wells St.). They've represented Chicago at Food Network with their amazing baked goods and we're lucky we can enjoy their goodies fresh out of their kitchen!

Do you enjoy your wine or curious about wine? You're in luck because we're making a stop at
Galleria Wine which is popular in Southport and now in Old Town (1559 N. Wells St.). Here you'll find some unique and different wines and liquors, perfect for your next gathering.
