Homemade or green dishwasher detergent...
So basically my dishwasher sucks, it doesn't get anything clean. I was told NOT to use gel packs because they don't fully disolve and cause buildup which would explain why my dishwasher flooded... twice. I have tried different powders and I just got Palmolive liquid "green" detergent to see if that works better but now I am thinking my plumber told me no liquids either? I can't remember.
Anyways, does anyone have recipies to make their own dishwasher detergent or know of a good detergent to use? TIA!
Re: Homemade or green dishwasher detergent...
Sounds great! Thanks!

I have tried 7th Generation, Palmolive Eco, Trader Joe's brand and a homemade mixture. For us the Trader Joe's works the best, 7th Gen a close second (although it does have SLS in it)
I use the homemade version (recipe similar to this one) when I do not have the store bought. We do not live close to a Trader Joe's (my parents do) and the store that sells 7th Gen isn't that close either.
