Weekend Plans?

Anyone have plans for the weekend?

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • We're going to my parents' house tomorrow and sharing the news with them.  I hope it goes over well (I mean, I know it will, but since I'm an only child and my parents still look at me like I'm 5 years old, I hope they don't have a weird reaction, so I'm anxious about it for no reason).  We'll also call DH's family (they're in NY) to let them know.  That's about all we've got going on though (aside from the usual, boring things like grocery shopping and errands).

  • Tonight, I'm not sure. J is wiped out from being up all last night calling the cops on a car alarm and chasing away pot smoking teenagers hanging out in front of our apartment . . . So probably a quiet night at home with take-out. I'm cool with that.

Tomorrow, I have doctors appointment and then we're going on a FOOD ADVENTURE! We're going to take the train to Flushing (hmm, which could be interesting since NYC hates poor people and therefore the 7 train barely works on the weekends) and try a couple different Chinese and Korean places. I'm really excited.

Sunday, I think we're going to a home brew shop in Brooklyn to pick up ingredients for our next batch of beer.

That sounds like so much fun!  Random...I was born in Flushing.  I miss Queens.  Have lots of good food!

  • Oh, that's so exciting Veruca!! Good luck! I hope it goes perfectly!

We don't have much along the lines of plans this weekend. Every Sunday we do a dinner with DH's cousin and close friends. Then we spend the rest of the evening roasting coffee to fill our weekend orders. That's about it for plans. It's supposed to be nice though, so we may head to the park.

  • One of the places I think we're going - http://www.xianfoods.com/menu.php

    Mmmm, getting hungry.

  • Cassie-that sounds like a ton of fun!!!
Lauren---enjoy the time telling the parents and IL's!  How did you tell DH?

We are... having ice cream cake tonight... going to Buca Di Beppo's Sat and movie afterwards... and I work...

    Sun-church...

    and working out...

and having our niece over... I think too much college partying made her want to be around our chaos, so she'll have a diff kind of chaos here!

That sounds like so much fun!  Random...I was born in Flushing.  I miss Queens.  Have lots of good food!

I heart Queens. Most of my friends live in Astoria and I've only been out to Flushing once to go a crazy spa complex which was amazing. We've been meaning to go for a while, but after our last food adventure in Manhattan Chinatown, we're wicked excited.

Next time I think we'll hit Jackson Heights for Indian Food. I'm hoping it will be spicier than Curry Hill's restaurants.

Ha! Yes, I found a picture of their menu with the english translations photo shopped next to the names on Chowhound. Could be interesting. Good thing I'll eat pretty much anything.

Have fun at Buca!  I love that place!

Well, DH pretty much suspected that I was PG during the entire time between O and when I tested (I had some unusual symptoms that I don't normally have).  So, he already knew I was going to test and thought it would be positive.  A few months ago I bought a pair of Mets baseball (his favorite team) baby booties (they're really cute) as a way to surprise him, so the day I tested I left those out for him and showed him the tests.

I haven't had a chance to really go back to Queens and see what it's like since I moved, but anytime we pass through there's always tons to see and tons of places that, if we had the time, I'd check out.  There's so much there.  I feel like No Reservations had an episode about Queens?  Or maybe I'm just thinking of the one where he went to all the boroughs.  My dad's from Astoria!

Yep! He went to a stall in the "mall" I'm planning on checking out. I'm not sure if it's the same one.

  • Saturday, Katie and I are taking the babies to a park with a spring/easter theme for a photoshoot.  (Katie, correct me)

    Sunday...looking at more houses.  Ugh.

    That is so cute!!!

Yep, I got the 'kitchen' table area for the kids... thought that would be a fun time!  My bach party started at Buca--for a dinner, then we went out.

  • I need to go shopping for a maternity dress to wear for Easter and my baby showers.  I *might* be able to squeeze into one I have, but I'm going to just buy one and use it for dress occasions throughout the pregnancy.  I also need to get a couple more pair of capris/pants so I'll have enough for our vacation/more selection for me to wear over the next few months.  I've got a good selection of tops.

We need to work on cleaning up/out the office (it will be the baby's room).

I need to work on addresses for the baby shower hostesses.

Lauren- love the way you told DH.  J is a big Cubs fan so I think I'm going to order some Cubs onesies/baby things and give them to him for Father's Day.

Hmmm...Mets fan.  IDK I may not be able to come back to the board.  Hehehe I kid,,,,sorta.

     Tonight...wine and lots of it.

Tomorrow...Myka is getting her first professional photo shoot done, we are taking Easter/Spring pics.

Sunday church and who knows what...

  • Tonight my mom and dad have Bebe . . . and R is playing video games.  :)

Tomorrow I'm meeting my mom at the park to get Bebers back . . . and taking pics of Scarlett, too!  :)  Aria, I can do whatever you would like . . . that park is a great spot for easter pics.

Sun nothing planned yet, hopefully just relaxing.

  • I am all alone today, and it's SO nice and quiet!  Redneck's at work and the girls are with their dad.  They're going to spend Spring Break with my mom.

This morning I need to run to the post office and get our change of address cards in the mail as well as the new Scentsy catalogs.  Then I think I'm going to hit up a couple of garage sales (the weather is nasty, though, so I'm not sure).  At some point, I need to go to the store.  Throughout the weekend, laundry, cleaning, etc.

Tomorrow I think we're going to paint the bedroom.  It is this god awful bright peacock blue right now.

A nice, quiet, weekend at home - sounds perfect!
