Where do you shop for jackets?

I know this is kind of a silly question, but I'm in the market for a spring/rain jacket and I can't find anything I like. Any suggestions?

Re: Where do you shop for jackets?

  • For that kind of coat I'd look at LL Bean. I don't know if you get up to NH at all, but in Nashua they have an outlet. I score there all the time.

  • I always forget about LL Bean! I'm going to browse online right now!

Oh, that's a good idea!  I'm looking for the same thing.  I didn't know that there was an outlet in Nashua.

An LL Bean store also recently open at Legacy Plaza in Dedham.  I don't think that it has an outlet, but the store is pretty big.

  • Along the same lines, Eddie Bauer has some good stuff.  Just got my sister a somewhat pricey raincoat for her last birthday from there (at her request) and she loves it.  While the stuff at LLBean is good quality, I find that generally it lacks in cuteness factor.

I also like the technical brands--NorthFace, etc.--for waterproof gear.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Burlington Coat Factory?

  • I'm derfinitely interested in the cuteness factor. I totally forgot about Burlington Coat Factory. I'll be in Natick this weekend so maybe that'll be my first stop!
  • I second Burlington Coat Factory.  Smile
  • Yeah the outlet in Nashua is huge. I recently snagged this there, in the dark purple. I happen to think it is quite nice looking. They also have the same coat in a rain coat version now that I want (I don't like my current rain coat at all). Makes no sense to buy now though.. maybe in the fall haha.

  • I have a great, lightweight rain jacket from LL Bean. You can buy an inside layer and zip it up into it if you need more warmth.

I have a cute trench from Limited if you are looking for something dressier.

  • Surprisingly I have found a bunch of cute coats at Old Navy of all places.
  • Depending on how you want to (or don't want to) spend, I actually had some luck at Marshalls for my rain jacket...
