Seriously! Can you guys keep a secret?
I'm shaking as I type this... We just got a BFP with #2! I'm in complete shock. We were planning on TTC starting next month but I fully planned on it taking us some time since it took about 8 months to get pregnant with Bella. I can't believe it! We were NOT trying, just having fun, sans BCP or other methods of BC, go figure! We have an ultrasound and appt on Monday since we have no idea when we conceived. I did get one period since having her but I'm BF so who knows. That AF was in December... time will tell! I ended up taking a pregnancy test because I was SUPER exhausted and tearful and emotional over the most random things. I said "either I'm about to start my period soon or I'm pregnant", which we both responded with complete laughter at the time, that was last night. So we agreed I should take a test to see.
I responded with tears and shaking and more tears. Of course, I'm happy, how can you not be? Just nervous and scared. B is only 8 months old! Ryan said "I'm stoked, be happy baby" He was dancing around with Bella in his arms telling her she was going to be a big sister. It was really sweet. He's SO excited and super happy, he even said "can I call everyone now?!" Too cute. We told our families and everyone is really excited for us. I can't believe I'm on my way to 2u2! More like 2 under a year and a half! CRAZY!
Please don't say anything on FB, my work friends are on there and I don't plan on telling them yet. Thanks!

hawaii 10.2008 plan ;P married bio ???
I can't wait to find out either. We had a negative test Jan 29 and I had a little spotting Feb 10, the nurse at my dr said "it could've been implantation spotting"... CRAZY!
I am still in shock today, I mean we weren't preventing but we for sure weren't trying either! I guess it just goes to show you, even though you are breastfeeding you are NOT safe AND even though it took 8 months TTC #1, doesn't mean it'll take that long the 2nd time!
I'll post an update after my appt monday afternoon. I'm still nervous for the appt. I'm just hoping all is well with the baby. Oh and they said I could keep nursing Bella, I just have to eat 800 extra calories a day to maintain the pregnancy and my milk supply. My goal is still one year, that's only 4 more months so we'll see!
Haha as soon as I read the post title I knew you were knocked up girly!
Congrats!
Yeah, the bf'ing whilst pregnant isn't a big deal. I only stopped breastfeeding Maya when I was 5-6 mths pregnant.
I put myself on calcium supplements (with Vitamin D in it too) as well as my regular pregnancy/breastfeeding multivitamin, iron supplements and fish oil capsules. My trusty pharmisist told me I'd need the extra calcium if I was b/f'ing while pregnant but ask your OB about it.
Wow!! Congratulations!! What a great surprise. Can wait to hear how far along you are.
Will you find out if Bella is going to have a baby brother or sister.

THanks for the insight. I was curious how it would be but so far she's doing fine. The only thing is my nips are SO sensitive again, just like when I very first started nursing. Toe curling pain when she initially latches on, I'm hoping it will lessen as I get further along.
I do hope she'll go to at least a year and beyond that, well we'll see once I find out how far along I am. I really don't want to tandem nurse 2 kids, that seems crazy to me. More power to the folks that do though!
I did think a little about the calcium. I'll likely end up on iron again since I have a low blood count to begin with. I've been taking prenatals since I'm Bfing. I'll end up purchasing the calcium next time I go to Walmart. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
Oh and as for finding out, we'll for sure find out as soon as we can, which I imagine will be at my 20 week ultrasound... I'm hoping that's 16 weeks away
LOL! I hope not;-) I don't need a payback anytime soon!!
I'm trying to remember if my nips hurt after Maya latched on while I was pregnant...I think they did a little but not too bad. Man my memory is bad these days.
How long were your boobs sensitive/hurt when you were pregnant with Bella (presuming you had sore boobs).
Iron supps are just par for the course, I think a lot of women's iron count struggles with pregnancy so it's always a good bet to take. The calcium/vitamin D always got a "good" whenever I told a midwife/ob I was on them during pregnancy.
I don't know what brands you have there in the States so I don't have recs, hon.
I hear ya on the not wanting to tandem feed thing. I think, if you can do it, 1 year is a fantastic amount of time to b/f. If you wean Bella at the 1 year mark, how many mths are you guessing you'll have left until the next bub is here?
I had about 4 mths which was a good break.
Yay Sarah! I saw your post about BFing while PG on the BF board...and was like WOW! Congrats!
FWIW, when my twin brother and I were 7 months old my mom got KU with our younger brother...so Irish triplets! (Except younger bro has a different dad, which a story for another time...so Jerry Springer...but you know, it was the '70's) Anyway, it was wonderful growing up so close in age! Your kids will be close friends...and frenemies at times, but it will be awesome, I promise!
We plan to TTC#2 after Libby is one year old...I am thinking closer to 18 months, but J says, "We can just get started at 12 months and it could be 18 months by the time we're KU..." Um, yeah. Just my luck we'll get KU right away! So we shall see...I want our kids close in age too.

Thanks Lori, I am still in shock. It seems crazy! So much for having to TRY this time! Although it's good not to have to work so hard at it. Last time, it was fun TTC for a couple of months and then it was sad and depressing.
Tell J we were going to start trying at 9 months, thinking it would take until she was 1 or longer until we got KU but life had other plans! Be careful what you wish for!!
Renee- I'll forgive you and I won't jinx you... YET
