Michael Phelps: Frosted Flakes, not Wheaties
Because Frosteds are his favorite cereal.
While I applaud, I read that nutritionists are up in arms. I understand why, but I still think it is an appropriate decision on his part. If he has been eating Frosted Flakes, that's how I feel. You can be an Olympian and eat Frosted Flakes, but you can also eat Wheaties and be a tank, IMO. There's a lot more to the increase in obesity in this country than which breakfast cereal you choose.
Thoughts?
Re: Michael Phelps: Frosted Flakes, not Wheaties
Ya, because its the cereal that is making the kids fat. NOT the parents over feeding them, NOT the meals on the go, NOT the high caloric meals the have premade at home....its the frickin cereal! ugh, whatever
Granted I would not feed Frosted Flakes to Connor but if that is his "naughty" breakfast every so once in a while fine. Its the parents job to help a kid understand NOT the guy who won the 8 medals at the Olympics who ate it everyday!
People seriously have to look at the big picture and how much control a parent has over what child eats.
Agreed, Beth!!
I don't care who you put on the box. Parents need to say NO! They can eat FF- as a treat! Like Saturday morning breakfast or something. Not only to parents need to control what thier hild eats, but they need to encourage activity! Go for a walk or a bike ride. Frosted Flakes are not what is making kiddos overweight.
i agree! thats what he eats, thats what he should be on....
that said,
damn you woman! now i want some frosted flakes and i havent had them since i was a kid!
I pink puffy heart Michael Phelps = )
I say " pppshhh whatever". If he chooses to be on Frosted Flakes vs. Wheaties.. so be it!! He is an outstanding role model for younger athletes. Kids are going to look at him and say " I want to be like him"! Its then the parents job to say to their kids " with hard work and dedication, and eating right you CAN be like him". Its totally the parents here. And shame on all those nutritionists that are bad mouthing Michael. Its obvious he takes care of himself. Give the kid a break!
