It's the only explanation I have and I couldn't be happier. I figure they took him brain washed him and let him come home changed. Seriously it's the only explanation I have for the miracle that has taken place in my house. That or he has completely given up and has decided that if he wants clean laundry and dinner on the table by 6:30 he's going to have to lend a hand around here.
DH told me two weeks ago that laundry is his domain. He will be in charge of laundry from now on. If I want to toss a load in the washer, that's fine by him but he wants to fold and put away so he can sort through his clothes and start tossing things he doesn't like anymore. Ooookay so far that has lead to me having a nervous breakdown and a screaming fit because it means he turns my kitchen into a laundry room and it lives that way
. Anyways. DH took DD to the store with him yesterday to go get Diet Coke and the laundry finished so I did as ordered, switched to loads but left the basket of fresh stuff on top of the dryer. I was fully expecting it to be there this morning, unfolded and glaring at me. Nope it was folded and in the basket. I thought something was wrong though, like there wasn't enough stuff in it. I pack our washer full. It's large capacity and I use it like that. I couldn't find my jeans. I was sad. I thought I was hallucinating. I was a little afraid. I knew I had washed them. I just knew it.
I went upstairs to get underwear out of my drawer and realized that there were many pairs in there when yesterday it was almost empty. So i investigated further and opened other drawers. DH put all the laundry away in the right drawers! Where were my missing jeans? IN MY DRESSER!! I didn't even think to look there since the other loads to go through yesterday were DD's laundry, our bedding and DH's work shirts. I really just figured I had been distracted by the child and forgot to finish loading the wash. I have become so used to looking for clean clothes out of the dryer or on top of the dryer.
Not only that but he did the dishes after breakfast, lunch and supper without being asked. I don't know who I am anymore. I thank aliens. It's the only explanation.
Re: AW: DH has been kidnapped by aliens!!
OMG! Do they make this brainwashing portable or contagious? I'd love my DH to catch some!!
Enjoy your new help around the house - totally jealous!
Wow... very impressive.... Jer gets that kind of service from me, but I'm not sure he'd even notice.
He does help out more now though. I've finally got him helping load/unload the dishwasher, I even think he turned it on once. He does the garbage (once I get it ready), vaccuuming, and poop patrol in the backyard.
I really have to get him started on more items around the house...
Its been a slow transition (partially b/c i find it difficult to give up some things up), I did everything around the house because I worked shorter hours and had no commute, but now I work much longer hours and Jer's commute is shorter than it used to be (get him on the 407).
Happy Easter
