Recommend your high chair
So with less than a month to go before we start introducing food to Kaelyn I really should think about getting a high chair. When I registered I had choosen the Chicco Polly...but I never went to buy it. Is that still a good one to get....or is there something better?
Re: Recommend your high chair
I don't like the one that I have for Jakob - the Eddie Bauer wooden one. PITA to clean between the small wooden dowels on the inside of the chair and the cover that mine came with was fabric - not vinyl - and I wound up with it in the washing machine EVERY DAY! That got annoying so I wound up going out and buying a generic vinyl cover for it that fits, but not well and so Jakob was able to knock it off easily. Now, I use it without any cover at all, but I still hate it......stay away from that thing.
For Caroline, I have the Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair. That one straps onto any regular chair and I LOVE IT!!! The bonus is that it is the least expensive highchair! It's easy to clean, and it reclines too (which is good when you are first doing solids).
I second Laura on the Fisher Price one. I had the big stand alone high chair (an Evenflo model) and it was fine, but they take up so much space.
Alex was so happy to move to the "table", and the FP one was convenient when we had him at a babysitter's house, etc. I'd recommend that one if she is sitting up relatively well.
We have this one at home:

This can also be used as a booster seat when you're ready take the tray away and use the chair at the table. Its very easy to clean. The only thing I don't like about it is that the straps ( to secure the child into the seat) are hard to clean if they get food stains on them. I usually use a soaked dish rag with soap and scrub them clean.
And Brianna uses this one at daycare:
