Mine is old-ish high capacity top loader...it does fine about 75% of the time, but if I have a slightly heavy load of towels or a few pairs of jeans the washer thumps and walks across the floor. Even if it is half full, it will walk and thump. When this happens, I go down and re-adjust the load in the washer.
Its like it lacks the ability to balance itself.
I need help leveling it...DH just wants to buy a new washer...b/c his theory is that...oh, its slightly broken - let's buy a new one. (This is why we are still paying off his post-divorce spending spree debt.)
There's 2 problems here...an annoying washer and a DH with champagne taste and a domestic beer budget. ugh.
ETA: he's just extra annoying right now b/c he has all these grand plans for fixing things around here before Chiclet comes, but won't even clean out his office so we can make it a nursery. He also wants a new car...a "safe" one that costs $35K...I don't want a $500/month car payment - especially when i am out of work!!! We already have 3 safe cars (1 at my mom's in Chi) and only a payment on 1 of them.
Re: What is it with the freaking Washing Machines? (just a vent)
it is strange...it is the smaller loads that have the most issues. everything ends up on one side.
TTC #1 13 cycles, CP 6/09, TTC #2 1 cycle
CDing, EP'd for 13 months for #1, BFing for #2
Pregnancy Hypertension - inductions at 39w, I grow big babies: DD was 9 pounds 1 ounce 22 inches, DS was 11 pounds even 22 inches - both vaginal deliveries
That is weird. I remember I tried to wash a small bath mat once and it made the machine unbalanced (it wouldn't go into final spin). I had to put another towel in, which made the load heavier, but then it ran fine. It's like you can never win.
