So my 10 year reunion is coming up, and our group is looking to find an inexpensive space to hold it. It's in September (when rates are generally high). We have to have the attendants pay for everything, so an event space which charges $3,500+ is out.
Anyone have suggestions for an indoor space that can accommodate 100-150 people? It will be in the evening, and we'd like to get a place with room for a caterer to prepare the food, a stage for some performers in our class, etc.
Maybe I'll buzz over to the knot also. Hope you all are doing great, sorry I missed the potluck!
Re: Inexpensive Event Spaces
We got married at the Columbia County Fairgrounds in the Pavillion and it was $900 for the day (10am-11pm) in 2006. Pavillion is 11,000 square feet, kitchen and bathrooms, all under cover...
We recently had a GTG at the Metzger park club house. No idea how much it was but nothing too much. Each person contributed a little bit. Another place we've used in the past is the Kenton Fire house in N Portland.
For work we've been at the McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse which is always a good bet as they only charge a food and drink minimum. But you can't bring in your own caterer.

Edgefield is a great place for reunions! That's where I'm having mine - and I have to plan it as well.
I highly suggest using Classic Reunions, unless you've already done a ton of work yourself. They have a great success rate at finding people and do all the planning, and just charge a per-person price for attendees. It takes all the pressure off the planner.
Ladies, I'm impressed! Thanks so much for the ideas.
Jeni, I'll talk to the group re: classic reunions.
