Restaurant suggestions Raleigh

Hey all,

My parents are coming for a visit this weekend for Easter and I am looking for some suggestions for restaurants we could take them for dinner on Saturday night.  The last time they were here we took them to The Pit in downtown Raleigh, so I would like to go somewhere other than a BBQ place.  I don't want to take them to a chain they have where they live...something more fun and different would be great.  I live in North Raleigh by Triangle Town Center, but am willing to go to a little further out for somewhere new.  Thanks guys!

Re: Restaurant suggestions Raleigh

  • I really like cafe capistrano - its a california-style mexican place and it's right near TTC (off Durant rd) Or since it is supposed to be so nice this weekend you could go eat at one of the North Hills restaurants and walk around before/after. I've eaten at Firebirds, Mura, and Midtown and liked them all.

  • Maybe Winston's Grille on Falls of Neuse? Some of my favorites downtown are Bogarts and 518 West.
  • Winston's is always good, so is 518.  We recently tried Busy Bee, which is a little more casual, but they have outstanding beer!
  • Sitti in downtown Raleigh is really tasty (it's Lebanese food, owned by the same people as Neomonde)- and I love going to Caffe Luna - it's a bit of a Raleigh classic.
  • I agree, Sitti and Caffe Luna are two of my favorites downtown!

I was going to suggest Cafe Capistrano.  They have the best tortilla soup.

Also Michael Dean's is upon Falls of Neuse and they are the original restaurant that started the Rocky Top brand.  Love Coquette and Vivace both at North Hills.

  • Do they like Thai?  Sawasdee is good.
