ipod help

So I'm getting an ipod, and I'm just going to be using it at the gym and to run.  I think all I really want is a shuffle, I don't need the extra features of the nano or touch, and I don't want to have to strap it to my arm or carry it around.  I'm looking at reviews, and it seems the old shuffle gets better reviews than the new one, and amazon still has the old ones.  Plus, they're cheaper. :)  So I'm just wondering if any of you have the shuffle, old or new, and what you think of it.  Also, are there any "must have" accessories I should get?  It looks like it comes with earphones and a docking station.

I have the old one. Got it a few years ago and it still works great, although I don't use it constantly. I like it for walking, etc, because it can clip right onto your shirt. I didn't get any other accessories.

  • I have the old one. It's actually my second, I lost my first. That's the only downside to it, IMO, that it's so small that it's easy to lose. Now I'm always sure to keep it attached to the headphones to minimize the risk. Otherwise, I love it, it's so light I don't even notice it's there. It only holds 2G of music, but I don't think it's even half full b/c I only put workout music on it (not other stuff) so when I put it on shuffle there are only songs w/ good beats to keep me going. I don't think you need any accessories, I just clip mine to my waistband (clip is built in), run the headphone wires down my back and under my shirt (so they're not flopping around or in my face) and go. I do have a set of headphones that I bought separately cuz I can't fit the standard iPod ones in my ears.
  • Thanks ladies!
