This is prolly a stupid question, but here goes it.
If a cell phone has WiFi capability, can you just use any WiFi you may have access to, or is the service provider going to make you purchase a data plan for x amount every month, or something else I'm not thinking of?
Re: WiFi/Phone question
You can use any WiFi that isn't locked, but a lot of companies either require/strongly suggest you purchase a data plan if you have a smart phone.
I have an iPhone with AT&T and I had to purchase the unlimited data plan. But I can also just use any unlocked WiFi.
Okay, that's what I thought.
I have AT&T with unlimited texting. I've been looking into upgrading to the HTC Pure or Samsung Solstice. Neither of them require a data plan. They seem like comparable phones, but the Pure has WiFi and the Solstice does not.
I think I might go with the HTC Pure. Thanks for helping me make my decision.
