newbie

Hello ladies!

I just found out about the nest after randomly checking out a newlywed book written by the nest creators. After reviewing this site the past couple days (because I was unable to post anything) it looks awesome! I feel outdated because I'm still getting accustomed to the abbreviations (DH, GTG...???) and I'm new to blogging/posting on boards in general! Could someone catch me up on the abbreviations please!

Everyone seems so friendly and open. I was wondering if anyone lives around the Corvallis area? I'm originally from Beaverton but am attending OSU right now. I'm looking forward to sharing info with you all. A lot of DH (is this the right context?) and my friends are single and so when it comes to advice/relating to others we're basically on our own.

Re: newbie

  • Hi!  Welcome to the boards.  Everyone IS really friendly and helpful.

P.S.  DH = dear husband, so I hope your DH isn't single!  GTG = get together, hopefully you can come to one.

  • Welcome!

I know there are some Nesties in the Eugene area, but I think most of us live near Portland/Beaverton.

And we try to have monthly GTG's so you'll have to plan a trip to Portland and come!!

  • Hi,

I'm new here too (and also getting used to all the abbreviations).  My fiance and I are getting married in July, but we did buy a house together last September, and I've thus far found the nest to be much more useful and much less overwhelming than the knot.

We moved to Corvallis a year and a half ago from Massachusetts so that I could attend graduate school at OSU.  We have the same sort of problem, most of our friends are a bit younger or just not at the getting married, buying a house stage of life so we're kind of the oddballs in our group.
