PS3/XBOX360/WII

I am a newlywed, and a gamer. But I can't make up my mind which console to buy. PS3 is worth the money, cause it can run both games and BD movies, but the game graphic is not so good as XBOX360, and it has got less good games. XBOX360 is good, the graphic is good, and it has lots of good games, but I cannot use it to watch BD...and HD DVD is dead now. As for Wii, I can enjoy games with my wife on it, but I am not really a casual game guy. So which consloe will you choose? I want to hear some of your opinion.[Poll]

We've got an xbox and a Wii (and DS's, and a Gamecube, and a N64, Nintendo much?).

MH loves his xbox, and now that Final Fantasy is out for xbox, I don't think we'd ever switch.  The Wii is more "my" system, but we both enjoy it.

We bought a separate Blu-ray player two Christmases ago.

With the price of Blu Ray players coming down and the number of games coming out that are exclusive to one console (usually XBox), I'd say the 360 is the way to go.  My husband loves his obsessively.  We bought the one with the biggest hard drive... 

That being said, we also have a Wii, and that is the only one I ever play.  BUT I'm not a big gamer, and the Wii was purchased to go with my Wii Fit, though now we have found many other uses for it (we're in the process of beating the new, super fun, Super Mario game together).

I have a wii & my Hubby has his XBox360 and we live in harmony.

I'm definitely going to second the question about the 360 having better graphics than the PS3.  It's simply not true.  The PS3 has significantly better graphics and processing power = cooler effects & more of them.  Just saying...

It depends a lot on what games you like to play.  We only have an XBOX 360 because my husband plays Halo.  We also have a Blu-Ray player (got a good deal on Black Friday).  So for me, it's really down to XBOX and Wii because the games/purposes are different.  If you buy a PS3 just for the Blu-Ray function, that's a really expensive Blu-Ray player!

For what it's worth, it is entirely possible for both casual and non-casual gamers to enjoy the XBox   There are a few games out there with a pretty decent local multiplayer experience (Borderlands is what immediately springs to mind, since it's what my husband and I are currently playing through).  We also have the Wii, but we only have a few games for it, and they have ended up being fairly frustrating.

I would say the 360. Great graphics plus the option of Netflix. DH and I have a 360 and a Wii. Though I tend to play the Wii 10x more than him. lol

360. For all the reasons mentioned previously. I also love the fact that I can listen to Lastfm and watch netflix streaming on it.

 

Also, I need more people to play Halo with.

We are not gamers at all, but got a Wii because we both grew up on the orignal Nintendo and Nintendo 64!

We have both a PS3 and an XBOX360 (and a PS2, and an HD DVD player, but that's beside the point...), and I think the PS3 is waaaay better than XBOX360. I love the games on the PS3, and think the graphics are great (just look at God of War 3!), and it does things with games that XBOX can't even dream of (if they did God of War on XBOX, it'd be like 6 discs as opposed to one). It also really helps if you have a 1080p tv, too. HTH!
