Car Insurance...

Hey ladies,

My parents are finally pulling the plug!  Now that I am married they are kicking me off their car insurance!  I am trying to get a better idea of what my husband and I should be paying.  Right now, we only have 1 car and its about 10 years old.  He has a work truck but work covers that on their own dime.  We are both over 25.  If anyone is in a somewhat similar scenario, can you give me an idea of what you are paying and who you are using?

Well we have 2 vehicals, both with Full coverage and We pay around $150 a month with Geico. So I would think that if you have only 1 car and you don't have to have full coverage that it should be less then that.

We have been really happy with progressive. They give you a huge discount if you pay in full for six months at a time, and it's easy to see how different changes in the policy (deductible, coverage, etc) affect the payment. I'd suggest going to their site and playing around with it.

My FX35 is 5 yrs old, and we pay $120/mo through State Farm.  My sister had SF too, but got her rate significantly reduced when switched to AllState.

Also, if you own a home, sometimes insurers will give you a multi-line discount (having multiple policies w/ them (ie, home and car)).

if you have access to USAA, I highly recommend them.
