I'm bleeding.
I just called the OB. DH is taking Alex over to ILs- we had a babysitter lined up for 5-530 anyway. I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back, but what the f*ck. I never bled with Alex, and this was bright red.
Re: F*ck
I hope that you and Molly are ok. Please keep us posted.
still waiting for OB office to call back. What the hell could take so long when a patient calls to tell you they are bleeding?!
They have 10-15 minutes more at most before I take myself over to the hospital. DH woke Alex up from his nap to go to ILs and I"m waiting for him to get back.
Thanks for your thoughts. Hopefully this is nothing...but I've never bled before, so i don't have a clue what is going on. All i know is red is bad and brown is old and okay, and this is red.
Heather,
I just saw this post we were at pedi w/ B! I hope you are ok and Molly. Call me if you need anything. We are home.
Heather you and Molly are in my thoughts and prayers.....
Just got home.
Bleeding stopped, thankfully. Heartbeat was great (157), and no regular contractions during monitoring, so they sent me to ultrasound. Molly is breech and quite comfy, they estimated her at 1 lb 15 oz already. She was very active and her development is spot on for where I am at so far.
They then did an internal u/s to check my cervix and lady parts. Everything looked great there too- no cervical shortening or dialation.
Dr. C said they had ruled out the three reasons for bleeding that concern them (placenta previa, placental abruption, and beginning of labor), so he was going to let me go. It may just be that this time I have a very sensitive cervix/lady part and I broke a vein somewhere along the line or something scratched. So he told me no sex, douching or tampons for 2 weeks. I laughed at him and said he had no worries about those with me for now.
So it looks like everything is okay, but I still wish I had a concrete reason for why I bled today. It's good to know Molly looks very healthy (the nurse and the U/S tech both commented on how active she was- no duh, tell me something I don't already know) and that she is coming along well in there. We got to see her smiling and with her little fist up in the air, and her bones are hardening nicely (femur, spine, skull), we saw her little ear and her toes, too.
Perhaps she was just having a good hair day and wanted her picture taken so she decided to cause some trouble? Who knows.
Thank you everyone, for thinking about me and sending me your best thoughts, it is very appreciated.
Now, I need to go clean my act up for FIL's party tonight- ILs are bringing Alex straight to his sitter's, so we're going to head straight to the party. Lovely start to the weekend.
I'll be the tub in the black dress drinking ginger ale and sitting down.
At least it's not a kegger or anything, should be very low key since it's FIL's "retirement"....lots of work people and a buffet dinner at a country club. Ah, a dinner I don't have to cook. Good stuff.
Again, I *really* appreciate everyone's kind words.
