Help with leaving iPhone in hot car

I can't take my phone into where I work b/c its a secure facility, but its getting too hot here to leave it in my car all day. (By May, it will hot enough around here to kill the battery.  Any thoughts on what to do? I assume ice packs in a cooler would be too cold, but will a cooler keep something at room temperature all day without an ice pack? There's a lot on line about not leaving the phone in a hot car but not many suggestions as to what to do with it!-- Surely, this problem has occurred to someone else out there! TIA

Re: Help with leaving iPhone in hot car

  • This is a good question....I'm not sure what I would do.

Are you able to request a secure location to lock up your phones inside your work? Maybe let them know the situation for you and other employees and see if they can provide a locked drawer for your phones at the entrance or something?

What do your fellow employees do with their phones?

  • What do you currently do with your phone?

What about leaving it in the glovebox - maybe it won't get as hot in there?  I have no idea though!

  • What about leaving it in a cooler w/out the ice pack? I'm not sure if the temp would not get as hot inside it without it but you could try.  If not what about getting a small ice pack and putting it on the opposite side of the cooler not touching the phone?  I have no idea good luck.

  • I work in a secured facility too and we lock our phones in lockers before the secure screening area.
