I have a google email and I haven't had it too long. I can't figure out how to display my email where it looks like it would if I was using a differ provider (yahoo/hotmail).
To explain...I am corresponding with my college and when I hit reply or when they reply I don't have individual emails. I have like 1 email for each specific time I emailed them. Then within that 1 email I have the back and forth emails between us.
Is there anyway to fix this to where I simply have 1 email individually instead of grouped?
Thank you so much. Hopefully I have explained this clearly.

Re: Google email help
You WANT to clog up your inbox?
Is there a reason you want to be able to see each reply as a separate item?
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
If there is something specific you are looking for, try using the search feature. If you know you're looking for an email about, say, tuition support from, say, Mary, type "tuition support Mary" in the search bar.
You can also make use of labels to sort things as they come in. So, group project stuff can get one label, and administrative stuff could get another.
Does that help at all? I'm still not sure I completely understand you problem.

Okay, that makes sense.
To explain better....
When you have Yahoo or Hotmail when you receive emails they come in as one email. Even if the person you emailed has hit the "reply" button it'll come to you as a new email. It won't appear in conversation style like Google.
I wasn't sure if Google provded a way to sort my mail similar to Yahoo/Hotmail/etc.
ETA: I want to read my emails individually not as a conversation
From what I can tell, there isn't a way to break up the conversations so that each comes in separately.
Conversations, IMO, are one of the best things about GMail.
I'd suggest trying out some of the things I suggested, and just playing around with different ways to do things for a bit longer, but it might just be that GMail isn't the e-mail for you.
Also, when you go into a conversation with several replies and it just shows a small white bar for each one, click on that and it will expand it a bit to show the person's name and the first line of the e-mail.

There is no way that I know of to make it default to a "single email" view. But, when you have a message open, if you want to see the previous emails that have gone back and forth in their entirety so it's easy to read, look for the "Expand All" button on the far right menu bar. It will display backwards compared to other email providers, giving you the oldest message at the top and reading newer messages down.
If you're looking for something specific, definitely use the search feature.
The other feature I use a lot when I need to keep track of 1 email in a conversation is starring it. Then, when you want to get back to that particular message, just go to the "Starred" button on the left side menu and it will show all starred messages.
Gmail definitely takes getting used to.
Sounds like the star function and search function should work out for me then.
Thanks ladies!
