started cilantro seeds in peet pots and they are floppy

is that normal?  the just sprouted a bit over a week ago, very long but thin sprout.  adn they are floppy.  what did i do wrong and can this be saved?

  • Are you growing them under a grow light?  I would move the plants as close to the light as possible (I'm not sure what your light setup is if you're using one, but I use fluorescent bulbs and they won't burn plants; at least mine won't).  That way they don't have to "stretch" to the light.

    Also, how long are they under the light?  Mine is on a timer so it's approximately daylight length.  If you leave the lights on 24/7 plants will get leggy, too.  

    If they're dry, they might be floppy because of that, too.  Peet dries our pretty quickly under lights.
