Annual plant from last year still alive!

I have a few small potted geraniums from last summer that I ended up bringing in this fall, as they were still flowering and I felt bad letting them freeze...well, they are still alive!  If I put them back out this summer, will they flower again, or do they normally only bloom one summer?

Re: Annual plant from last year still alive!

  • My aunt has geraniums that have to be ten years old.  She brings them in every year.

I brought mine in this year and put them out today. I'll give them a month to come back before I buy new ones.

I had a few customers when I worked at a garden center who brought their geraniums inside every winter. Sometimes they would flower again, and sometimes they wouldn't. It's definitely worth a shot!

  • I guess I will put them out when it finally gets warm enough here and see how they do!  That is crazy that they can survive for so long and stay in good condition.  I guess geraniums really are hearty plants!
