...for not knowing the answer to this, but honestly I don't.
I know this doesn't happen often, but how is it that a woman can get pregnant if she has sex right after her period. Not like a week after, but maybe just 1 day after. Wouldn't that be impossible because there would be no egg there yet?
Re: I feel dumb...
So CycleDay1 would be the first day of her period...say she had sex on CD5, still on her period, at the end of it. Sperm can live up to 5 days (maybe even 6!) given the right conditions. Assuming the right conditions are met post-coitus, that leaves sperm hanging around until CD10. If she ovulated on or before then, she could get pregnant...from having sex on her period.
FWIW, a friend of mine just had a baby. She had ovulated on CD9 - even though her usual ovulation was CD20 or later.
Hahaha I'm glad you remembered, Pastry!! Nah he finally sucked it up and realized that he wasn't getting any if he didn't have one on. I wouldn't do NFP even if condoms didn't exist, though. Its too risky for me considering I'm diabetic and I shouldn't get pregnant right now.
I just asked the above question because I have a friend who claims she got pregnant while on her period and I didn't know if that was possible. I guess it is, though!
I'm assuming it is. H and I had unprotected sex about a week before I started my period, so we assumed I wasn't pregnant. Turns out I was.
