Being a puppy mommy is not without its challenges!

In the past 6 months we've been raising a pup from 6 1/2 weeks weighing 4 lbs, to amost 7 months weighing 24 lbs!  Getting into this puppy parenthood has been met with so much fun and excitement, and so much hair pulling moments!

We have a puggle, and we've grown to learn they are stuborn, and the nose never stops.  Pug features are in her coloring, size, crazy wines and squiggling-swimming movements in our arms when holding her.  Beagle features are her howl, her long floppy ears, her long snout, the stuborness.  She listens to her daddy more than I, gets herself into trouble a lot, and completely melts our hearts and make us feel loved and adored.

The hardest part for me is when she is not feeling well.  We've seen her lose her teeth and chew our furniture, we helped her recover from her spay surgery, she had a yeast infection in her ears and alergy infections at the same time last week, and this week we've found out she has colitis.  Praying she's on the mend, but its so hard to see her not feel well, not be her crazy self, which I'd rather than seeing her mopey and in pain.

  • I've never had a dog but that must break your heart when they are sick. She looks super cute in the picture. DH loves Beagles but never really seen a puggle before. Hope she gets better soon.

  • My 5 month old puppy is getting neutered in 2 weeks and I am so nervous! I remember when my cat got spayed, it just about broke my heart seeing her in pain. Rocky is totally MY puppy and it will be 20 times worse seeing him all mopey Sad

Sorry your lil furbaby is sick!! Hope its not too serious.

  • Aren't puggles a handful but so worth it!?!?!  We have 2 brothers that will be 2 years old in May.  One is our good boy (he's black and white and listens really well and pretty much stays out of trouble) his brother on the other hand is my problem child!  LOL  He's a fawn colored, big brown eyes (looks like Puss in boots from Shrek when he looks up at you!) and gets into everything!  But I love that in the evening they love to cuddle us and fall asleep on us when we watch movies or tv.  Too cute!!  Yeast infections in the ears are pretty common.  We have to clean our fawns ears pretty regularly, he's very prone to them.  I hear you when they are sick, it's heartbreaking!  We just nursed our fawn (got into the plants in back that we later found out the landscaper messed up on and put in Hibiscus which are poisonous) and he had 2 weeks of loose poop, vomiting and little appetite.  Poor little guy!!!  But was still his lovable self through it all.  Good luck nursing your baby back to health!!!  Make sure she stays hydrated and love her up!

  • Um, your fawn is our Lilu!! LOL! And she's such a cuddle bug at night, we love and adore this in her, as well her many other traits.  She is always getting into trouble!  I was tempted to get 2 at the same time, but just her alone, we would've been nuts to do that, but great rewards.  She's much better, and has actually gained chubby weight, because her ears affected her appetite, and then the medicinal food, but she's healthy, and doing healthy puppy activities, and is becoming great at walking!  If she could listen better, life would be better! :)
