Users of sulfate free shampoo...
Did it take a while for your hair to get used to it?
I started this week and my hair is fuller, but straw-like and kinda greasy feeling. Will that stop once my hair is used to it?
Re: Users of sulfate free shampoo...
So I should give up on this brand... it won't get better after a few more uses? Would using ACV as conditioner help ya think? I hate to throw away a mostly full bottle.
I am on spring break next week and I do plan to try the baking soda and ACV.
I kept a bottle of Renpure Organics shampoo and conditioner. I like them, and I use them after I do a deep conditioning with olive oil....so like, twice a month. I think the bottles will last a year. So I would say keep them, you never know when you may need an emergency shampoo!
haha, yes, H has even told me that if I want to try Avalon Organics S&C again, he'll use them if I don't end up liking them anymore. Sometimes I also pass things around to my mom and/or sister to see if they like them.
Will you shame me for asking a really ignorant question?
What's wrong with sulfate in shampoo?
Disclaimer: I'm new here.
If you go to a 'no poo' or sulfate free regimen you need to make sure none of the other hair prods you are using have silicone in them. From what I understand silicone will build up on hair and not remove completely with less harsh menthods like SLS free shampoo or baking soda. Once I went cone and SLS free my hair's never been better!
Hubby is bald haha. Otherwise... maybe
.
Oh! I hadn't heard that, but that makes sense. I stopped using silicone (or simethicone/dimethicones) a long time ago because I read about it being bad for your hair long term -- ie making it look nice right then, but ultimately being drying and damaging -- so I wasn't using any when I started no SLS and loved it right away.
