Help - Bridal Shower Games

Hey Gals,

I'm in charge of games at my sister's bridal shower in Jersey in a few weeks. She hosted my bridal shower just 2 years ago and since many of the guests were at my shower, I'd like to try out some different games.

The Ones My Sis Played at My Shower

  1. Finding Items on List in a Purse - Bingo
  2. 20 Questions that Fiance Answered - I think we're still going to play this.
  3. Toilet Paper Bride Fashion Contest

Ideas welcome!

Re: Help - Bridal Shower Games

  • I like the 20 questions and the toilet paper brides.  At my shower we also packed a suitcase with stuff to bring on our honeymoon (we were going to england/ireland) and then people had to guess what was in the luggage.  It was cute.
  • One game that went over well at my bridal shower was famous TV couples. My sister made out a list of the  first names of couples from TV shows, and you had to write the last name of the couple and/or the TV show and you got one point for every one you got right, and the one with the most points wins.

    For example:

Jamie and Paul    Last Name    TV Show

(Jamie and Paul Buchman  Mad About You)

I thought it was nice ice breaker game to play since not everyone at my shower knew each other.

  • One that was a hit at my shower was this chore game.

Every person chose a chore out of a bag.  Each chore was a piece of paper that had the chore's name and three lines on it.  You had to write three reasons why you dont like doing that chore on the paper.  People got chores like doing laundry, cleaning dishes, washing the floor, giving the dog a bath, cleaning the toilet, etc.

Then my sister read the responses aloud and said "Excuses for Michelle not wanting to have sex with Andrew.  She can't have sex because it makes her back hurt, she can't have sex becuase it smells, she can't have sex because it takes forever" It was really funny and cute and worked with a large crowd. :)

I would put three lines for a smaller group and less lines for a larger group.

     HTH!

  • We played those same exact games at my shower - except the purse game was based on a point system and the person with the most points won. And it was great, because we planted things in people's purses. One of the items was "a condom" and we planted one in my MIL's bag. She turned bright red when she found it, it was really cute!

Also at a cousin's shower, we played a game where each guest gets a little bell, pin, bracelet (something removable) and you can't say the word "bride" or the bride's name. If you heard someone say one of the taboo words, you could steal their bell. The person with the most bells at the end of the shower, won.
