Any students going on a honeymoon later this year?
DH and I are both still students so going on a honeymoon right after the wedding was not an option. We will both have this summer free but of course, travel prices are huge in the summer. We are wanting to either go to Disney/Universal or on a cruise but prices are pretty high... ugh. We were considering waiting until Christmas but I am starting nursing school in August and we have different breaks than the rest of the school. Blah! I just want to go on a honeymoon with my husband.. can't wait to be done with school!
Re: Any students going on a honeymoon later this year?
I've graduated by DH is still in school. We took a mini-moon (drove up the east coast) on the way to our reception in PA a week after the wedding, and plan to do a real honeymoon after the semester.
I've been looking at all inclusive resports in the Caribbean. Rates are great right now and include airfare, and I'm finding some that they are cheaper than Disney or cruises, plus tips are included!
We got notification that Carnival is raising their prices for the summer so trying to do it then will be hard. Would you guys be able to do a weekend trip somewhere as a pre-honeymoon? Maybe go to a winery or a bed and breakfast and then, when you have more time and money, plan the bigger honeymoon?
My parents told me the one thing they regret was not taking their honeymoon after they got married (and they still haven't taken it to this day). I don't want you to end up saying the same thing.
KeyRyn- we got that notification as well. I thought that since we had cruised with them before we would get a good discount but it ended up being around $60...
If we can't work something out for a big honeymoon this summer I think we will definitely try and do something small! I believe there is a winery relatively close to Austin. Thanks for the idea

I'm a little skeptical of online companies like that and in case you are too, here is what I've learned.
I have talked to a few people that have traveled with them before and they had positive experiences. Also, according to the BBB they have had complaints but do work hard to resolve them. So if DH's families travel agent ok's it we'll likely book through them.
HTH!
Another idea, if you're looking for cheap cruises, is to go around September or October. Unfortunately, it's also the middle of hurricane season (hence why prices are so cheap). It's a big risk but, depending on where you sail to, you may still have a great time and miss the bad weather.
We're waiting to go on a honeymoon until I graduate in May; it stinks but DH couldn't get the time off work right after the wedding. Not to mention my bday was two days later, too, and we were trying to get things moved into the new apartment.
We're planning on driving down to Branson and doing the Silver Dollar City thing (about 4 hours from us) and taking a really long weekend mini-moon type thing.
MIL is talking about paying for us to go with them on an Alaskan cruise this summer or next for a family trip in memory of grandma, but paying for a balcony as part of a honeymoon. =] I'll be so excited if that all works out!
