shade loving privacy evergreens?
Do you have any evergreens in the shade that would be good for privacy near a fence? I've been searching the internet and will go to local garden center and ask, but am curious what other people have. Space isn't an issue but the shade is. My trips to Lowe's an HD have turned up nada aside from some nice but clueless salespeople. Thanks!
Re: shade loving privacy evergreens?
I have leyland cypress and thuja green giants, and thuja emerald green planted in shade. They are sun lovers, but will survive in some shade. They just don't grow as tall. Check to see if they are ok for your zone, as well. Maybe cyclomeria (sp?) too? My camelias are evergreen (but I am zone 7) and some will get 8 feet tall, others 18 ft. They are in full shade.
How tall do you want them to get? My neighors have privot in the shade but it only gets 8 feet tall.
Sorry, that should be cryptomeria. How much shade do you get, and how tall does it have to grow. There are some schrubs that can get pretty tall: skip laurels, some acubas.............
Hope you had luck at a local nursery. Unfortunately, I only know most plants that grow in my zone.
