We just moved into our house and we didn't have any grass in our backyard so that next week we planted grass and fertilize March 10 we are in zone 8. A couple weeks later and we barely have any grass. We decided to re-seed by March 26 est date. We are just now geting patches of grass and some areas its just dirt. How long will it take before we actually get some grass?
Re: Growing Grass Q&A
Check the back of the seed bag for germination time--some grass seed can take up to 40 days to sprout.
Did you put anything over the grass to keep birds and other things from eating your seed? Are you watering it regularly? Did you put down any start-up fertilizer with the seed? All of these will effect how much and when you get germination.
