Gettysburg area caterer/somewhere to get apps from?

Can anyone recommend a caterer/somewhere to get some nice finger foods from? We're having a baby shower for my friend and the other two hosts live OOT.  I have a 9 mo old and although I'd love to cook everything, I don't think I'll have the time plus I worry about transporting it all.  Any ideas? We can pick it up and display it if it's a store or something that just sells that sort of stuff.

  • Eddie's Place has a catering menu.  I haven't used them but I have ate there on a couple of occasions.  It used to be Gingerbreadmans.

I attended a birthday party in Gettysburg where the food was catered by a restaurant in Hanover.  They delivered the food and set up everything.  It was very good Italian food.

Weis Market advertises some really nice looking veggie, fruit and cold-cut platters at Christmas time.

     good luck!

  • I was going to recommend the Altland House as well.  They have had very good food in the past.

  • DH (who grew up in Gburg) says that Biggerstaff's is the only one he can think of off the top of his head... but he wouldn't necessarily recommend them.  They do all of the catering for the seminary, so I've had their food and agree w/DH's summary that they're not the worst, but they're also not great.

I would check into the Atland House or the Carriage House Inn (in Emmitsburg - we used them for our reception, but they do catering as well).  If you're thinking more along the lines of grocery store platters, we've always had good luck w/Giant's and Kennie's trays, but not so much w/Weis' trays.
